Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways issued order of developing 324 KM of roads in Chhattisgarh

The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved fund of Rs 892.36 crore for the development of eight road sections in Chhattisgarh. The amount is sanctioned for the development of eight roads totaling approximately 324 km in six districts of the state.
The eight new roads will be widened and strengthened in Bemetara, Mungeli, Rajnandgaon, Jashpur, Bilaspur and Khairagarh districts.
Government of India released the approval on Monday and issued the orders of the amount to the Secretary of the Public Works Department of Chhattisgarh government. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai extended gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari for sanction of funds for the development of roads in the state.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed his gratitude to the Government of India for sanctioning from Central Road & Infrastructure Fund and said that the state is getting continuous support from the Central Government in the construction of roads.
Public Works Department of the State Government had sent a proposal to the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on September 9th this year for the development of a total of 323.9 km road sections in six districts of the state.
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari had given its approval to this proposal in a meeting held in New Delhi with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao on September 30. The Government of India had issued an order of approval of Rs 892.36 crore on Monday.
With this amount, a total 39 KM of road will be developed at Nandghat-Mungeli road section and 43 km long Bemetara-Nawagarh-Mungeli road section will be widened and strengthened in Bemetara and Mungeli districts.
This also include the work of strengthening 96.2 KM long Dongargaon-Chowki-Mohla Manpur road section in Rajnandgaon district, 13.5 KM long Baghbahar-Kotba road section in Jashpur district, 41 KM long Ludeng-Tapkara-Lavakera road section and 28 KM long Jashpur-Aasta-Kusmi road section. T
he widening and strengthening work of 32.8 KM of Sirgitti-Sarwani-Pasid-Amaldiha-Bartori-Dagori road section in Bilaspur district and 30.4 KM of Rajnandgaon-Kawardha-Pondi road section in Rajnandgaon and Khairagarh districts will also be done from this amount.
